Contains various documents related to household finances, as well as some genealogical, family, local and church related information. Folder 3, three miscellaneous notebooks, include estate information for Martha E. Thompson, (J.W. Thompson, executor, 1919); a daybook for "Madrid Filing Station, George L. Layne, Prop" (1924-29); and a minute book (1895-1932) with inserted letters and deeds to 1945) for the Mt. Zion Brethren Church, Dayton, Va. Folder 4 includes insurance appraisals of farm, tax receipts, J.W. Thompson 1932 estate debts, land deeds and the 1930 Farm Census Thompson report. Folder 5 includes the small pamphlet, "A history of the Heatwole family," Dale Enterprise, Va, 1882; clippings on Justus B. Heatwole; information on the Thompson Museum (local Valley rock/fossil/shell collection) and family weddings, along with three photographs. Folder 6 includes schedules and list of staff for the WSVA radio station in Harrisonburg, Va

Biographical or historical data
Mary A. Thompson (1903-1997) spent her life in the Harrisonburg area. She went to Pleasant Hill Elementary and Junior High School and then to Dayton High School, graduating in 1925. She was accepted into the Rockingham Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1929 and graduated in 1933. (Included in this collection is a World War II manpower commission document concerning her 'inactive' nursing rating status during the war).
