Summary
The Spotswood Garden Club of Harrisonburg, Va. has been active in the community in a variety of ways: it supported the concept of victory gardens during World War II; has sponsored annual Historic Garden Week home tours and numerous flower shows; has supported events enhancing the appreciation of native wildflowers; and even lobbied for the legislative removal of unsightly billboards. In 1991 it joined Greener Harrisonburg and has planted gardens at public sites througout the city. In 1983 it undertook the restoration and continuing maintenance of the historic garden at Fort Harrison in Dayton, Va
